The Perry County Historical and Cultural Arts Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing Perry County history. Some past events have included Civil War Days, sponsoring history programs in our schools, sponsoring essay contests, and many other activities. Our Constitution and Bylaws outline the objectives of the Historical Society as follows:
- To collect all available historical material and information associated with Perry County.
- To promote public interest and tourism through displays, newspaper and magazine articles, lectures and tours.
- To identify, mark, reconstruct and preserve buildings, sites, and trails of significance in the County’s history.
- To establish a museum or museums on the County for exhibition of antiques and other material and information.
