Appalachian Health Care 1900’s Presentation a Success

Over 55 people attended the presentation on February 27 at the New Lexington, Perry County Senior Center.  Participants learned from Karen Newlon, RN  how resourceful Appalachians were with their health care in the past.  They saw a poultice made, all had a chance to shake a jar of whipping cream into butter, and lastly what was stress in the 1900’s is the not the stress we experience today!

Networking followed the program as everyone enjoyed the light refreshments provided by the members.  Persons attended from Athens, Vinton, Hocking and Franklin, Muskingum, Licking, and Fairfield Counties.
